Is it worth trying to fit a later 28 or 32mm carb to my 1958 motor and if I do, will it actually make any difference? I need a bit more power on hills because it just dies a death at the sight of a hill at the moment!

Nothing that can't be swapped back to original you understand, just to make it a bit more useable.
