Hello just a quick one realy i have a 58 beetle and the running board rubber mat should be black but mine are an off white is it at all possible to dye them to black as my budget is tight. and the mats arnt cheep to buy, if so where could i buy the dye from plese

Hi,
There used to be some stuff called Vinyl-Cote which you painted or sprayed onto plastic car items like seats and dashboards to change their colour. It was available in lots of different colours and worked by bonding right into the plastic and becoming part of it so it didn't just scrape or wear off after time. I remember it used to have very good reviews in the classic car magazines. I'm not sure if it's still available in the UK anymore but there's a link here to a similar type of product. If you shop around you could probably get it a bit cheaper.

NO! Dont paint them! that will look er..... :shock:
I thought the coloured ones were more expensive than black? maybe not though.
