After a two year search, and after almost giving up, I finally found what I was looking for - an rot free, unwelded, 100% original, matching numbers, un-molestered, original paint & interior, surviving, virgin oval.

Many said it couldn't be done, but I never lost hope, and I'm finally very proud to share with you my Oval.

I'll let the pics do the talking, but add that it is a 1 previous family owner, 36,000 mile example with all the original dated service tags hanging from the bonnet release pull.

Enjoy.

As it was found....

So, a happy ending then. Quite a difference to all the rusty and lowered crap you see advertised on certain websites etc. for daft money. Did you get it through a wanted advert in the end?
You can call me Al.

Hi

Fantastic find!! Please just wash it, spray some protective wax on the surface rust and drive it. Originality cannot be replicated!

Happy motoring

Pretty much. The owner came accross a discussion I was having and contacted me. It went from there... Right place, right time, right car, very lucky.

Pretty much what I intended. I need to investigate the best method of doing so and the right products to use.
Cheers!

The plan initially is to get it running, then do the various re-commissioning jobs, then get it MOT'd and registered and go from there.

I would be disappointed if that didn't happen this summer, time off work permitting.

It will be kept totally stock and original. This one's a keeper.

Keep us posted and if you do make it to a show this year i would really like to see it .I can only think of a few cars with this kind of originality .Perhaps we should start a new thread for original paint /interior cars, although i dont think it would be more than a few pages unfortunatley .Here is one of my favourites from last years Stanford hall .I think a similar colour:? as yours but either a post December 53 or early 54.What is the gauge on your dash?Ammeter?

 What a great find !! Congratulations (and thanks for sharing the images)

This is a similar story to that of the oldest Volkswagen here in Belgium, JM's 1948. That car was also found in a barn, is still in first paint and bone original, with loads of patina. Until today, this car has never been restored, just brought back to life and then carefully preserved by its owner. Patina cars, they are so cool 😎

Paul
