That makes no difference for a cabrio out of 1956! 😳 😳
Chassisnumbers with the digits 15 in front are only used starting 1965!!!
So you must have a 6 digit chassis!

As far as a fifty goes the floor pan is no different,don't know too much about those modern cars 'tho. But i think you wiil find Guido's chassis will be ideal.

Paint code for Inca Red is L258.
Searched on the Glasurit(supplier to vw)website,no record.That's going to be tough, finding the formula.
The inside of your glovebox lid does it still have original paint. :?:
If so,you may be better off going from a scan of that.
No record of formula on the samba either.
Have only ever seen pictures of one other car painted Inca Red,like yours a mid '50's Karmann.
It's a beautiful colour and well worth you finding the mix.I do believe it is metallic also.

Just found further info confirmimg colour is defo metallic

Hi All
more progress pics
working on rubbing down the rear end of the car, note that a lot of the original factory lead loading has been removed by the previous owner unfortunately, but it does show the original Karmann factory spot weld joints!
their is more patchwork welding to the rear than id originaly thought...i suspect there might have been some rear end damage at some point as the rear H valance has been grafted in and bits of the engine bay and rear bumper mount has been replaced, but with original panels cut from other cars!

Butchered rear Quarter panel inside!

welde up bullet holes below!!
