As usual....slow progress due to other occupation. Some other cars of me needed attention and 3 ladys in the house needed attention to...

I managed to work a bit on the car. The spare wheel sheet metal was gone in the car so I need to make some sheets. The lower part and the one with the tabs are new made. Took me some time. Again, the tabs need to punched out so a tool was made. On weekday's, I think on how to make this or that. On saturday I try it out. Most of the time I only can work on the car in one afternoon on sat. That is not much.
Another part that is in the pipe line is the raingutter on the engine cover. I discovered that 3 styles are used. The assembled ones on the first batch of hebs, the pressed one on the later cars welded on the rear cowl and the one piece pressed together with the rear cowl. And this is only in a time gap of 1.5 years of production. Weird.

And I had the chance to score some parts...They are not the best parts but I have them. And those can be worked on in the house.:omg: The rear lights are self made. They are rough formed. The glass is original. I guess a 6 monthly update is my standard.:x  IMG_3231s.jpg You have insufficient rights to see the content.  IMG_0010s.jpg You have insufficient rights to see the content.  IMG_0230s.jpg You have insufficient rights to see the content.  IMG_1087s.jpg You have insufficient rights to see the content.  IMG_1088s.jpg You have insufficient rights to see the content.

ENJOY THE THREAD! I JUST PURCHASED A SOLID 95% NO RUST JANUARY 1959 SEDAN TO BEGIN THE SAME PROCESS OF EVOLUTION INTO THIS LOVELY HEBMULLER. DO YOU HAVE ANY IDEAS WHERE I CAN GET DRAWINGS FOR THE TOP FRAME WITH MEASUREMENTS? I HAVE A FIBERGLASS DECKLID TO USE UNTIL I CAN DO THE CAR CORRECTLY AND BUILD ONE FROM STEEL. I ALSO HAVE A 1954 CONVERTIBLE WINDSCREEN FRAME AND EARLY RIBBED DOORS. I BOUGHT THE 1959 AS A BARE SHELL WITH NO CHASSIS, SEATS, ENGINE, FENDERS, ETC.... SO IT WAS AN EASY DECISION TO USE THIS FOR MY "HEB" TRANSFORMATION. I HAVE A 1958 NO RUST PAN TO BEGIN THE PROCESS AND WILL MAKE MY OWN VERT FRAME RAILS TO SAVE ON COST. I BOUGHT A SPLIT DASH NEARLY 20 YEARS AGO IN ANTICIPATION OF THIS PROJECT, AND HAVE COLLECTED MANY OTHER PIECES SINCE THEN. THANKS FOR ANY HELP AND ENCOURAGEMENT.

Hi Chubz Vdubs.
As you can read in the post, I have made paterns for the roof top ( and all the rest of the metal parts) but even If I copy them for you, you won't be able to make it. The reason is that you need a buck for it:idea: . And I made one on the real hebmuller roofframe. So I know it is correctly made.

The buck is needed to weld the pieces together. If you do it without, I doubt the frame whould work. It took me lot's of time to make the paterns from a real rooftop. Almost every major part of it is made from several single parts that needs welded together. I am willing to help you with your project, but only if you make it correct:wink: . There are tons of heb replica's but I need to find the first one that is correct made( except those that are made with the blechmanufaktur parts)

Greetings.

I would be willing to try to build the top frame. It is very complicated. I saw an original just this week at a friend's shop and need help. He let me make many templates of the body cowl section.

Hi, did some work . Not much but needed to fit some parts and adjust them. Work on the normal body issues for the donor are almost finished. Small welding required . Then I finaly can start fixing all the parts I made permanent... The welding gear will do overtime. :d

You see also the buck I made for the roof assembly. Was a quick made buck but efficient to work on. Some left over scrapmetal did the work, mounted on a working table.  IMG_3393s.jpg You have insufficient rights to see the content.  IMG_3396s.jpg You have insufficient rights to see the content.  IMG_3446s.jpg You have insufficient rights to see the content.  IMG_3448s.jpg You have insufficient rights to see the content.  IMG_3449s.jpg You have insufficient rights to see the content.  IMG_3451s.jpg You have insufficient rights to see the content.

next series. The rear seat was mounted for adjusting the set up with the metal frames before welding it all. The wood from the rear seat is made 100 procent copy from an original I had bought. :d  IMG_3559s.jpg You have insufficient rights to see the content.  IMG_3560s.jpg You have insufficient rights to see the content.  IMG_3562s.jpg You have insufficient rights to see the content.  IMG_3565s.jpg You have insufficient rights to see the content.  IMG_3566s.jpg You have insufficient rights to see the content.

After a long time not posting here.. Sorry Rob, I add new picts. The car is done and made its debute in Hessisch 2017 as fast put together for the show. All work is done by me. From body, to mechanic to the roof and fabric on it. I must admit that for the cover, i used a second hand roof cover. This gives the car a "used look" and so is the paint... done by me in the garden in a tent... I am happy with it.
