The story of this one is that when I had a proper job (with an insurance company) I used to arrive home to find VW parts on the drive.. Some of them I found out where they were from and others I didnt have a clue... there were always VWs on the drive and I always drove air cooled to work...

Last week I got a message via an old VW shop that I know that an old customer of theirs had a '61 Beetle to sell.. turned out he lives 1/2 a mile from my old house... has owned splits, Beetles bays etc... and used to put VW parts on my drive... I didnt know him... I might have bumped into him in the VW shop but thats it..

He had tracked me down over 8 years later and wanted me to dig it out and buy it... so I did... Its a funny world!

They are oddballs. A friend had one many years ago. King Link pin chassis 1600 engine narrow shoes on the drum brakes. Also has this got the odd rear light mounts and remote reflectors on the wings?
