Looks like an early bus rear lamp and bracket, on a split rear light housing.

One thing that has always puzzed me with Rattletrap are the rear lamps. Those fitted are the type introduced in August 1955. All pictures that I have of Rattletrap going back into the 1960s show these later lamps on the car.

I agree with Owen and Richard. Looks like split bug housing with early bus bracket and lens.

Well what a long and interesting thread - I stumbled over it while looking for info about Zwitters, and ended up joining the forum so I could post these pictures - I went to see the car while it was in the Bentley museum, I was aware of some of its history and claims regarding its mileage and what was done when Haselock's repaired it - but now I feel like I know a whole lot more!

Due to the way the car was displayed, it wasn't possible to get better pictures of it.

This is a start though, you will just need to be patient and buy other parts as they turn up:

My '50 has heart lights, so it may be easier to buy the earlier round rear lights for that and put the hearts onto Rattletrap thus correcting both cars.

So all I need now is a pair of '50-'52 rear lights, preferably for less than the price of a complete running '70s nice Beetle though...

I won't hold my breath:cry:
