Hey,

I am fitting 356 Drum brakes to my standard oval, so far, all good except the handbrake cables.

If I buy early split handbrake cables that go all the way to the front of the car they have a threaded end. I do not have the bracket/plate assembly that deluxe bugs would have had. I have the bar that accepts the cable brake ends which have small cylinders on the end rather than threads. Has anyone tried to buy cables for this application? Anyone know where I can source the brackets/plates? If I buy the handbrake cables and I put the threaded portion through the bar and put locknuts on the end, will it work? Would really appreciate the advice, pics below for ref:
