Are there any dead give away signs of telling a repro hubcap(it could be the paint on these,but they may have been re-primed).
Picked them up recently,i can't tell.
If they are repro they are nice.

On the later dome hubcaps, I believe the originals have several raised 'dimples' around the outer edge on the inside (if that maked sense)
I thinkThis is missing on repros.
Yours are earlier so may be different.

I'm by no means an expert 🙂

I believe that real large logo hubcaps only have 1 small hole in the side not two as in later hubcaps. Further the originals are much heavier than Repros.

PS. I'm looking for 4 real ones for my '49 split.

Can any one confirm the 1/2 hole story.
Etzold how many holes in your original?
