Looks like an early bus rear lamp and bracket, on a split rear light housing.

Maybe they were special prototype versions of the lights? :d

I agree with Owen and Richard. Looks like split bug housing with early bus bracket and lens.

Due to the way the car was displayed, it wasn't possible to get better pictures of it.

I stopped by the 'Bentley Wildfowl & Motor Museum' as its called, a few years ago. An unusual subject combination. A rather interesting array of vehicles inside, all a bit crammed in. Didn't see the VW 10BXK aka Rattletrap there though??

I acquired Rattletrap from the Bentley Museum in 2009, so he's been gone from there six years.

Did I write six years - where's the time gone:omg:

I was a boy when I first saw the car by the local shops 50 years ago. Seems like last week! I'm feeling very old.

Would say not Rob. In 1950 the heart lamps were yet to appear:wink:

Anyone know of a complete pair of heart rear lamps for sale.:?:

I don't think you will find a complete pair of 'heart' rear lights for sale.

This is a start though, you will just need to be patient and buy other parts as they turn up:

My '50 has heart lights, so it may be easier to buy the earlier round rear lights for that and put the hearts onto Rattletrap thus correcting both cars.

So all I need now is a pair of '50-'52 rear lights, preferably for less than the price of a complete running '70s nice Beetle though...

I won't hold my breath:cry:
