Rather nice 1949 model Beetle at www.grandprixlegends.com/diecast-legends/scale/1-12/Volkswagen-Beetle-Saloon-1949-Black-1-12.html

It looks as though it has working semaphores :d

Nice model but they probably used an incorrectly restored car as a reference as there are inaccuracies, indicator stalk on steering column is one for example.
The front bumper appears to be on upside down too :?

Over £154, so rather pricey, but would look nice in your display cabinet 😎  Model 49.jpg You have insufficient rights to see the content.

With inaccuracies such as the vent windows in the doors (52-53 split) and chrome trim around windows (51 onwards) I wonder how they arrive at the conclusion that this is a 49 model :?

With all the trouble and expense of tooling up to produce a model such as this you'd think they'd find a good original car to work from. I'd have been happy to supply pictures of my 49 for this, as I expect many owners would :d

I suspect they've re-used a later model and changed the back window...

Nah, I think they've used the back half of a zwitter model Beetle shell and built it into an earlier model shell and used the zwitter's doors and 'screen trim – a bit of a Frankensplit model

Don't like it at all...The proportions are weird, the side window and door window are too fat and flat. Also, why do toy manufacturers never get the wheels right?
This one has tyres which seem too fat. Vitesse, Century and Minichamps didn't get the wheel profile and proportions quite right. For me, even though there were loads of other mistakes on them, the best wheels were on the RIO models. The dome and size of the hubcaps were spot on rather than the little blob you usually get with others. I am very fussy with my toys!

At this sort of scale you'd think it could be very accurate though.

But then even the model presented to Mr Hitler didn't look too perfect
