After looking through some old photos today I realised there's a lot of cars that seemingly have disappeared. So I though it would be interesting to kick off a thread about cars not seen anymore.

So here's the first one. Oval 300 BPU. This photo was taken at Detling in 1987.



This one still exists as according to the DVLA it's a 1954, and has just been retaxed for a year. DVLA also states the colour is now green.

Do you own it? Or know who owns it?

i heard it got turned into a wizard roadster.

From that beautiful car into a green wizard, thats the stuff of nightmares. 😳

Absolutely. Ribbed door, heart light, ragtop RHD Oval's are not exactly common and as that one looks in such good condition then I can't believe it's a Wizard now...

They were probably all Cal-Looked in '89 :shock:

Think you've just hit the nail squarely on the head! Lots of people are just happy with them gathering dust in their garage which is fine but no one gets to see them! :cry:

Doesn't look like this one made it though. I papped it at Action in 87 but according to the DVLA it ran out of tax just a year later. Wonder if it's sat in someone's garage somewhere...

I've seen 300 BPU before, probably in the mid-90s, but not 693 DMK.

...all joking aside,reminds me of an upsetting story about an oval my friend found out about...

in slough theres an even worse part (can it be true!!) called britwell
these council garages had been broken into, and my mates mate does security or something for premises that have been broken into... he finds in this council garage, a rhd black oval, with a red interior, been off the road since that late 80's
so he told my mate, and was asked to find out more info!!

... went back monday morning, to find the block of garages had been set alight over the weekend!! :shock: :evil: :cry:
never did find out where the car went after that...

so there are cars still out there!!!!
