Does anyone know the part numbers for the upper and lower seals on early steering boxes,ie before mid 61

status vw sell them and there listed on there site if that helps

They are out of stock on the lower seal and no date for when they will get any.i think i'll measure it up and try a seal and bearing company.

Making your own was the way i had to go for my 58 but is does leak a little.

I've ordered some seals from simplybearings.co.uk.
They have rotary shaft oil seals in virtually any size you can think.
if anyone is interested these are the sizes:
upper 16x24x7 the original is thicker but the max they have is 7
lower 28x40x7
