Pictured is a four brick bonnet badge as opposed to the later three brick.
But which bricks should i be looking at/counting?  4019879.jpg You have insufficient rights to see the content.

Never heard of the brick thing just the borders around the crest. If you look on the right hand picture there is a definate border next to the waves. The early one is on the left First appeared April 1951 and changed to the latter a year later hope this helps

Second row starting from the bottom, on each side 4 bricks.

For a reference, this is a 3 brick version.  3-brick crest.jpg You have insufficient rights to see the content.

There are more important things but the same could be said of our whole hobby.
I was asking out of interest.

Not at all George, not at all. Personally, I think it's a lot of fun to get to the nitty gritty! It's all in the details that make a car stand out of the rest in most cases. Some like it, some don't care that much. That's ok with me.
