evening all, thought id best say hi, I posted a pic of my beetle in the '64s thread but i thought i should start my own thread for somewhere to ask daft questions when i confuse myself (it's pretty easily done)
so heres a couple of photos of the bug.

rubbish picture i know but its all i have to hand. I have a full resto thread on earlybay.com under the same username.

however, ive been digging thropugh my box of bits that came with the beetle. and have no idea what this is... any ideas?

thanks. i've been toop busy enjoying it to do much work on it or the van so far.
I just edided my post to show the part i was asking about rather than another picture of the beetle (because im cack handed and clicked the wrong link)

The piece is a cover plate used in a beetle spare wheel well for access to the steering box

I have never seen one with a number stamped in it before.

I have one at home which has a number on it. I will have a look and see if the number is the same.
