I need to tow a Beetle project car to my house. However, it has no keys. Does anyone know how to disconnect the ignition/wheel lock so that I can turn the wheels and put it on a trailer??? I want to do this because I have to move it soon, and I wont be able to get new keys made in time.

open teh trunk , undo the gastank, unscrew the steering column and of you go. you can turn the front wheels with your hand by pushing the wheel .
Later you can replace the whole steering column to undo the locking system.
