I know from past experience, you've got some serious money in that car.
Thats a high high standard of work.
No one in their right mind should ever critisise you for the way you've choosen to go.
That is ultimate dedication, and a lot of"stock" restorers would be wise to take a leaf out of your book.

x2!!! (apart from the past experience part of course)
Shocked

I'm not a big accessory fan but besides the speedo I also treated her to some HULS seat recliners and a cigarette lighter, this mainly so I've got the option of plugging in a Sat/Nav in the future, not that I'll need to know where I'm going, more because it'll give me an accurate speed reading!

I think this photo sums the car up for me, like it's been dipped in a vat of molten plastic, perfect. Cool Shocked Very Happy

It is incredible, but how the hell do you go about keeping something like that clean? presumably you will actually drive it?

Thanks for all the comments.

@ Rob, yes it will be driven and yes keeping it clean will be a problem but there's no point owning it if I'm not going to drive it.

@ George, given the feelings on modified car's when talking stock events I'll not be taking it to Lavenham so everyone's safe!

People are so polarised now about not having ANY lowered/not period modded car's at 'stock' events (see BC thread on the Samba as an example) it stay's at home.

Will post some latest pics up soon.

Martin, just found these photos on The Samba.

Quote:
Trevor asked me how I planned on etching the logos in the new glass. Here you go.

An original logo

A decal. Actually cut by the guy who sold me the bus!

Masked off, and in the bead blaster. The key here is quick short bursts of blasting. Watch the decal to make sure it's not peeling. It doesn't take much.

Cool
