short story to a one only build....

now 14 years ago in my company a collegue told me that he build a car in 1965 for his own use, based on an vw chassis..... he was at the end of his career and i saw only some pictures of it.... but he had my cellphonenumber ( wich i do not change  )

4 month ago i got an telephonecall from a now 71 year old man...

and yes, i saved that thing, but i do not know what i will do with that piece of fiberglas.....:omg: :?

chassis mai 57
build from 62-63
streetlegal 65-70
use: daily summer& winter
build: one only
engine (was an 34horse forumla v engine - now dead)
complete handmade body useing simca, bmw parts and most homebuild things.
trany: later trany mount
rims: have been mounted on the wrong side to get a wider trace...:omg:

so finally i picked that thing up, called lovely "the red presto"

much work, and i do not know if i want that work to do... but sprinties would look cool in 5.5 and 8'' on th rear

we will see....

I´ve seen a lot worse looking kit cars. I think with some cool wheels - the chrome sprints look great - it could be fun. That front view actually looks pretty good.
Have you go any other photos from the side and back?

Fit a big engine with a supercharger thats higher than the roof.

Restore it using parts that would have been available in the 1960s.

the front is cool, the side needs work, also the rear...

there are not much parts needed beside wireing harness and brakeparts...

Kind of cool looking, would need wider back wheels and a more racey exhaust than the standard pea shooters.

Even a Porsche 917 would look silly sitting on those wheels. Thats what´s killing it at the moment. I know they are just to roll it around. And x2 on the exhaust!

I was thinking "what wheels would Andi have lying around his garage that would fit on this car?" and the obvious answer was Porsche 917 wheels! Perfect.
It shows the size of wheels and tyres that would IMHO look better anyway. Have to fill up those massive wheel houses. Would go nicely with the Carrera four cam motor too.

Agree totally.

Andi, fit those wheels, paint it white with a couple wide blue stripes running front to back over the roof, fit a 250hp motor and it wouldn't look out of place at the Goodwood Festival of Speed. You gotta keep it, love it.

(or fit an outboard motor and...well, you know the rest  )

Exactly - it really, really, needs not to be red.
