Some friends who came with us to Camberg in their firetruck took it back to the town where it came from over that weekend and met up with the fire-chief who remembered the split van and they got loads of photos of it parked up at its old fire station and next to the new fire engine. I must get some pics off them!!!
Is frequently found with a glass of wine in one hand and a vintage vw part in the other

The rest of the van looks very nice, though. I wonder if there are any more undiscovered examples, lurking away in teeny German mountain villages? Unlikely, I suppose. Actually, 'unlikely' might be a severe understatement.
