I had put the same ones on SSL, the Jupiter grey 51 Standard which you now have, John.:wink:
I think they suit old cars the best, they're so quaint and chunky. And with time, they fade and turn a

early original 3d uk plates (ie made by Ace) were triangular cross-section weren't they

The correct digits like in Martin's plates (pre-63) are called 'peak digits'.
47 Beetle, 56 UK Karmann Cabriolet, 56 UK Beetle, 57 UK Type 2, 59 UK Beetle, 66 UK Fastback.

I think the profile varied over the decades, first depending on wheteher they were white or silver, also the actual font seems to have changed, some letters with and without serifs, rounded 'S' and squared ones too.
