At last, a chance to buy a pre 48 Beetle I thought, until I saw the price and location. Okay if you have £215k laying around maybe, and we're not even talking KdF with its wacky boot and spare wheel area.

Yes I think some of these cars are doubtful. There was a '43 on the Samba a few weeks ago for $255k, and the front wings at least looked much later. If these cars can fetch so much money it is well worth the effort of altering a later split.

A '49 on the Samba, and again in Australia, but a more realistic price. Been lowered and well pan damaged, what a shame.


I'm sure that this car was up for sale at the last Lavenhan meet here in the UK for around £27k.
