In the Seume & Shaill Coachbuilts book, it says only three or maybe four are known to have survived.

I think I have found pictures of five so far!

Anyone got any recent Papler pics (NOT Hebmรผller or Austro-Tatra 18As!) ๐Ÿ˜ƒ

What's the thing to look for to tell a Heb 18A with doors from a Papler 18A? I can never tell them apart :?

The Hebmรผller and Austro-Tatra 18As have the hood frame mounted on the outside of the car and, both have curved tops to the windscreens, more like (same as?) a 14a.

Also, they don't have the wide pillar between the front and back doors.

Hebmรผller Type 18A, with doors...  3735.jpg You have insufficient rights to see the content.

Austro-Tatra 18As have a similar windscreen and hood frame to the Heb 18A but the back doors are more square, and the bottom hindges are positioned right at the bottom...

Yep, I have a lot of boxes!!!
Empty ones!!!
As we speak now the workers overhere are building a new garage to put my cars in. I hope that box is ready in a few weeks so my 51 Split and 50 Heb can also stay at home together with the 68 Cabriolet!!!

Are you leaving some space for car number 4, or are you stopping at 3 cars? ๐Ÿ˜ƒ

Somebody told me in the past that it is not the quantity that counts but the quality!!!
So I will follow this wise advise and stop with the number of three old Volkswagens!!

What you have to remember is that when Bob and I wrote that book (written 1992/93!), there was no Internet as we know it, no vintage VW websites etc. It is inevitable that any such book will coax 'new' cars to come out of the woodwork! That has to be good, yes?
