My 67 was built on 30 Aug 1966 according to the Volkswagen AutoMusum. The date stamped on the speedo is 6/65. Did the factory carry parts over from one year to another?

From all of the information that I have heard and or read over the years about building a VW at the factory stated that they used whatever parts that were lying at hand. That's why there are some very rare VW's out there that were put together, new at the factory, using parts from various years. Without getting into detail here the answer to your question is YES, very much so.

If you enjoy reading there are numerous books out there that have this information in them. Maybe someone reading this can direct you to a specific book to look for.
