BTW just out of interest, how does it know when it is in reverse, I cant see a way that the switch could be depressed with what you have? Having just thought about it thats probably what your trying to find out! :oops: :lol:

there is a bit attached to the gear shit rod that hits the button...

Its different to the ones that go on gearboxes.. so wondered if it was a home brewed job?

I had exactly the same set up on my '53. I imagine it must have been a mod that someone was offering in the '50s...
