I am looking into early, dark green VW colors...

On Claus' Karmann page, the original color book references "Dunklegrun, L207" as the base color for the two-colored green Karmann Convertibles.

Yet a quick search on the Net - it seems most owners of such paint their Kamranns "Atlantic Green, L19" for the dark green base color. I though this was an early Oval sedan color.

What is the story? In what way do these two greens vary in color and use?

Ultimately I need modern day mixing formulas for both these colors - anyone?

Thank you in forehand.

Atlantic green was a bit darker than jungle green .Atlantic green was a one year only colour on the sedan as VW thought it was too close to
British racing green and didnt want people thinking it was an British car.

Atlantic green was a one year only

Funny that, because i have seen original paint 'verts from 50,51 and 52.
I have never seen anything but 'verts in Atlantic green and always thought it was a convertable only colour.I may be wrong with that but certainly not a one year only colour.

......hmmmm gotta disagree that Atlantic Green and Jungle Green are basically the same.
The only similarities I see is that they have green in the name.
Have a look at this chart full size.

Sunroof53 is 100% right especially as an owner of a very nice one!

The car directly above is definitely not atlantic but looks like 100% pastel green to me, the same as my split ( should be)

Jungle is not so dark as atlantic, I think I could find some og metal in jungle and atlantic for comparison if I looked. I have an og paint atlantic hubcap right here on the wall behind my desk! :d

I always thought the Karmann's were a completely different darker colour too? but I really have no idea.

I KNOW this is og paint Atlantic 53 ( lhd)

I dont really know about these colours especially, but we have got half a dozen greenys now as O loves them, an og atlantic sunroof would be his perfect oval too! :d

Sunroof53 at Stanford last year! (its in my gallery page on our site) :d
