Fresh Air. I think stale air heating ended in late (Dec?) '62.
47 Beetle, 56 UK Karmann Cabriolet, 56 UK Beetle, 57 UK Type 2, 59 UK Beetle, 66 UK Fastback.

Yes fresh air heating from chassis number 5199980 in December 1962.
My Ruby Red Deluxe built on 26th March 1963, chassis number: 5383152 has fresh air heating.
