I always thought the 'screen (abbreviation for windscreen) was at the front. The back view is through the rear window:?

Anyway, I thought the split intruding into this pic was more interesting:wink:

The auction has been cancelled.. it was at £4200 when it was pulled... I wonder what he was paid to end early?

Seems a good price for a full-on DeLuxe split project:?:

It's not a '51:!:

The quarter light door windows replaced crotch coolers in October 1952

Looks nice, pity he didn't send some interior pictures 😮

Thanks for posting them.

Not the interior I'd expected though:?

It's a Zwitter, (Oct '52 – March '53 split). Looks like it has late '50s early 60's recovered front seats, the seat cushions are wider :?

If you're thinking of buying it, beware because if the headliner has been replaced around the rear window as well as a repaint, it may well be an early oval with a window swap

Wise, I'd say. Considering their short production run, there's rather a lot of Zwitters around compared to the original style split

I wonder how many early ovals have had their rear window changed:evil:

That's funny

I nearly bought this car from a German dealer, over christmas. It had been for sale for around 3 months
The price then was €8900, but it wasn't driveable, the brakes need to be fixed and a couple of other things needed doing
I guess with some negotiating it could have been bought for around €8000
The motor in the car is from '55 (not even a 25hp), it came with another spare 30hp and some other spares

now it's €11,000

There are not that many good Zwitters out there

Plenty of basket cases
Check this one out, it is now for sale for €8500, check out that welding:shock: looks like someone went crazy with a stick welder:lol:

Zwitters and early ovals both had the starter button the same. There's not much to tell them apart except the rear window of course (and the value!). So a fair few early ovals have received split rear windows and changed chassis numbers:evil:
