I'm quite new to this site although I'm lurking for ages..

2 years ago I bought a nice 64 panamabeige bug, due to a lack of time I didn't do anything to it. Sold it a couple months ago to a nice guy who wants to use it as his summer-dailydriver. Plan is to have it roadworthy by mai/june next year. I will have a lot of work to do as there's some -not so nice- fixings from the past and someone trying to restore it lately 😳 . It will be fairly stock with some minor improvemens to make it a little easier to drive on a regular basis: 12V for example.

Some pictures of the bucket:

Last week I finally did some work on the chassis.
Cut the two panhalves out and opened the frame at the front.

Finally a little update in the new year!

Needed a little removing to repair the framehead, I removed the Napoleon hat while it stored a lot of dirt and rust.

Removed the jackpoints and the rear crossmembers to re-use the originals.
Considering to not put the jackpoints back as these are nothing but rustbuckets.

Halves need a lot of tweaking before these can be tacked on the tunnel... :? 😞
