I want to change the air correction jet on my early 50's 28PCI carb. I have removed the top section of the carb & removed the brass screw holding the jet. I thought that the jet would come out once the screw was removed? It looks fixed as I can not remove it?

Can any one help

That brass screw IS the jet, usually numbered .195. Nothing sophisticated or complicated with the Solex carb.

I had a nice find with my 28pci
someone in the past had over tightened the brass screw and snapped the whole colum it sits on and then had glued it back together!
Last week it gave up so brought a lovely new one from Malcolm Hawkins.

Guys,

when I removed the brass screw, it was only a stubby type (Small in length). The diagram that I was looking at showed a longer stem type screw, could it be broken? Or is this a later model & as I said is the air correction jet just the brass stub type screw?
