Well folks, after a wonderful weekend at the Hessisch Oldendorf Vintage Meeting last June and some long talks with other Vintage VW fans at last years shows in the UK, we've decided it's time to address the balance and offer a new style of vintage show in England.

We have found a location which should rival Hessisch Oldendorf and Bad Camberg as the most idillic setting for a Vintage VW show.

After many months of planning and consultation with Lavenham Parish Council, Merchants Guild and Community Council, we have agreement of an outline proposal and approval to hold the show in Lavenham's historic market square. As this will be the first show in Lavenham, we have created the illustration below as a guide to how it could look.

We have the ideal location, you have the vintage Volkswagens, so lets make this something special!

Please give us your support - via the guest book....

www.pre67vw.co.uk/lavenham

Thanks to Rob, Adrian and Barclay for their help with the project.

Please help us to spread the news by passing the web address on to anyone else you know with an unmodified pre '67 vintage VW.

Malc 😃

Malc, sorry i didn't make Stamford. Great news about the OK.

This will be a great show, cannot wait.

I'll give you a hand with the flier drop.

have you posted on VZi? there is a lot of interest over Stamford. There seems to be some vintage nuts on their, honestly.
You can never have too many accessories on your car. 🙂

Me neither, had a great weekend of work outside on the house planned, but dislocated my knee on Sat so spent Sunday laying indoors eating nurofen like smarties, fed up, instead
But the cars up in front of the house looked great in the photo's did'nt they! :D
Just highlights how an interesting backdrop really makes the difference.

Having a show somewhere like the middle of Lavenham will be great for partners who are not into vintage VWs as much as their other halves!

Plenty of shops, tea rooms and sights to see.

It should keep everyone happy and make for a great weekend. 😎

HI for all of those people who are thinking of going to Lavenham you wont be dissapointed. I live about 20 miles away, and have two customers there, so i go there about twice a month, im never failed to be ammazed by the beauty of the place! Its a bit tricky to find if your not familiar with N-Essex/Suffolk, but if you can get to Sudbury you'll be ok.
Dont know why im saying all this a bit pointless i know, but if you live far away and are unsure about the long distance you'll regret it if you dont go!!! It trully is a wonderfull place. (though you might have trouble understanding our local accents) Theres a great little bakers in the square, you must try some of their hot paistries (us builders love our tea and cakes).
If theres one show you go to in 2008, make it Lavenham, you wont be dissapointed!!

I would love to go but I do have one question though. I have a 65 bug but I have US spec towel rails on her. Would that count as a modification? That is the only thing that is not factory spec.
