Hello,
just find my first ribbed oval, standard & ragtop, after many years of research...
Some work to do, some welding... And some parts needed!
I'm after a right door... a rear valence, rear wings...

Here is a Topic's copy.... (Radikalbugz)

Greg.

Funny you should say that Andy.
Look at the car in the link i posted the other day.
I'm embarassed to say i've not notice this in the past.
Is this a standard thing, were all the panels used, cut for a reservoir, and then not used?

My '58 Std had the mounting holes for a brake fluid reservior, they all used the same panel as the deluxe.

Hello every body,
happy new year!!!

Yes, real std with cables for brakes, no hydaulics system...
no synchro in the gearbox.
little ulphostery.... just the square.
no chrome.
specific châssis and floors.
specific seats
specific steering wheel
no hole on the body for chrome, no stripping,
specific door handles, paint with grey or Alpax?
I love it........
many many years to find it....

Hello,
finally, a friend will do the welding... Very hard to find N.O.S. metal sheet parts, but months after months, some maker have new parts for sale, Virtanen, Wolfparts, Hookys, Autocraft, Gerson...
Some parts missing, but we now can start the job.

Chassis & body are now divorced....

What an interesting and unusual car.

I've often wondered why the base model Beetles were usually grey. Was grey paint cheaper than using a colour finish to save costs, or was it just by keeping the colour options down that saved costs:?:
1956 VW Beetle, 1962 Morris Minor, 1968 VW Beetle (Old Blue), 1972 Morris Mini, 2005 MGTF

Blue, blue, Electric Blue, that's the colour of Old Blue!
