Where can I buy new ones from? I'm looking for rear ones, 16mm I think (19mm on the front). K-N in the US sell them, but they aren't cheap 😞

I think I read somewhere that ATE are doing them again, anyone got their contact details?

Btw, I don't want South American brake parts, if they do them.

Cheers,
Dave

Cheers George. Man of few words

Shame that the KK website isn't more comprehensive. I'm sure they sell much much more than what they advertise on their website.

Jules- are there any plans to extend the website to show more products?

Yes, I know they won't be cheap (nothing is cheap these days for vintage VWs, is it?), but the other 3 cylinders on the car are 4-bolt so I'd like to keep them all the same style.

Yep, the ones I'm looking for are 16mm rear, 4-bolt. I don't see them on the Vewib site, only the fronts 😞

Hi Andy,

Yes, I was thinking about that. TBH, I think the cylinder itself is ok. The bleed valve sheared off when I tried to loosen it, so I'll need to take the cylinder off the car & try to extract the remains of the valve thread from it & fit a new one. Other than that, I think it's working ok, it's just that I won't be able to bleed it.

However, out of interest I'd like to know where you can buy new cylinders! BTW George, KK don't sell 16mm 4-bolt rears, I just called them about it.

Okay Mr. Atlas, I've got some genuine cylinder rebuild kits (SP 148A), that might do for your car, and as you know I'm cheap! (And also a lot nearer!!)

Yes, people had told me that..

Thanks Gav, but I think it's just the bleed valve that's the problem. The brakes seem to be working fine. Although I won't know for sure until I remove the cylinder & check it. I'll add that to the list of jobs to do after the summer.
