On You Tube Hope some one can put a link in it shows a 1939 KDF Wagen on the move with period music. type in

The film clips used in this video are taken from a 16 minute travel film entitled,
'Weimar to Carlsbad'. The film shows the beetle travelling on pre war country roads and points out places on interest along the way. The soundtrack on that film is classical music performed by an orchestra, rather than the dance band music used in the video. The film is sponsored by Shell so that's why you see them filling up with petrol at a Shell garage.
We'll be running the full film on dvd at The Historic VW Club stand at the Classic Motor Show at the NEC in November.

Found this film in ten parts by Franz Schroeder done in 1954. Hope someone will put the links in as it has been split in to ten parts. If you put in ------ Auseigener Kraft VW 1954-Tell 01 Von 10 -------- Some good film footage of VW goings on in 54.
