IMHO That's a South of 20K car.

Not unsimilar.

Yeah, I'm with George. An insight to be able to get his opinion.

Another overpriced one in my eyes. Tempo pick-up, $110k.

It's a lot of money and probably not worth it.
But the standard of work in that pickup is exceptional.

Yes its not a VW, its a Tatra T87, but rear engine air-cooled over a swing axle like we all know.

No harm in trying though...:omg:

The Tempo commercials were fitted with VW engines, and in a remote way were the forerunner to the VW Type ll.

The Tatra was the car that influenced Porsche when designing Hitler's People's Car. In particular, the big T87's smaller brother the very rare T97 which was flat-four rear engine air-cooled over swing axle, and considered by many the roots of the Volkswagen. See the thread here 'The Real Beetle Prototype', or 'Google' Tatra Beetle

At the end of the day a Tempo is not a Volkswagen. If they'd stuffed a Fiat engine in it instead of a Beetle one, no one into VWs would give it any consideration.

Hello Rob - Not yet got round to completing your survey : That's next on my agenda !
Although I've lost my licence I've not lost interest (or enthusiasm - only energy !).
My grandson drew my attention to a smart looking, well-presented mid-1956 Oval with an interesting history on a site he visits, Cars and Classics.co.uk with a link to the dealer/vendor, Specialist Cars of Malton.
Initial observations : Left Hand Drive : No radio : No pictures of Engine Bay : Strange for late 56 to have push-button (?) knob on left of dash and black painted straight gear lever ?
Sadly too far away to pop round personally for closer scrutiny and decision justifying the dealers near £25,000 asking price which admittedly has to take account of the cost of any warranty/guarantee.
Punditry fodder ? regards John aka Jollychuffy
