What are people doing for their 6V batteries these days?

I see a number of places selling 'dry' batteries that cost a fortune and then you still need to go somewhere to buy the acid to actually fill them.

I am driving a 6v 66ah Varta Battery bought on eBay 2 years ago (so cannot say if prices evolved but it wasn't cheap already..). Acid was delivered with it but separately, just needed to fill it when it arrived.

Unfortunately the law was changed in the UK and they can no longer supply the acid through the post.

The Poisons Act 1972 (Explosives Precursers) (Amendment) Regulation 2018 make it illegal to supply a dry battery with acid pack to private individuals without a valid Poisons Licence (EPP Licence) Therefore all classic batteries supplied within the UK will be shipped dry WITHOUT acid.
