What is meant by split doors how can you tell these from other doors? does my 53 have split doors?

Hi Sam,
Early sedan doors for split window beetles had one piece glass with no quarter-light and a flat metal check strap. In October '52 the quarterlight was added and the check strap changed to a round rod. I think these doors were basically the same through to the '56 model when they changed the lock mechanism and got rid or the raised area around the inside panel.

The number of turns to lower the window changed in October '52.
The hole to oil the hinges changed to a groove in December '54.
