Need some help with the colour scheme on my car.
It's a September 1953 Sahara Beige L272 oval , colour was only used 3/53 until 1/54.
Looking at the net / assorted collection of VW books I am getting conflicting data on the wheel colour combo, they seem to agree on body colour ie L272 for the wheel rim yet one source says the wheel centre should be L53 sealing wax red, the other that it should be L57 tile red!
Furthermore, what colour should the VW logo be in the centre of the hubcaps? Some sources say body colour, another that it was white for 53 only , yet my car still has traces of red paint in the VW motif?
I personally think my car came with red logoed-caps when new as the hubcaps on the car are without doubt original.......
Can anyone direct me to a definitive source as this is driving me crazy?
