I've been wondering for some time now what the original set-up would have been for my UK-sold RHD '53?
At the moment it has a pair of grandad-style mirrors with arms mounted on top of the front wings, which look awful :lol: .
Think these are Desmo brand, or something like it, so not original and presumably 1960's additions.
There are no signs of a hinge-pin mounted mirror ever having been present as both doors are original with no outward signs of the hingepins ever having been replaced, so would the car have been sold with just the interior rear-view mirror?
Would be grateful to hear of your opinions as I'm inclined to throw away the mirrors on the wings and get a mirror-mount hinge pin and install it on the drivers side........
