Hi,

I've just bought a '59 that needs heater channels. Does anyone know where I can get replacement channels for a '59? I understand there are differences to the later ones and I'd like to find the best quality channels of the correct type so the guy who's doing the welding doesn't have to spend ages messing about with them!

Thanks,
Graham.

Sometime in the future Autocraft are going to be making them ( I believe?) But right now no one makes early channels. So you have 3 choices, NOS if you can find them ( v expensive and v hard to find) the cheap Brazilian black ones that personally I wouldnt use, or the 'genuine' Mexican but 68on type and modifying them which is not too hard and at least the metal is thicker/far better quality than the black ones and better pressed, but you will have to remake/or plate a curve into the centre section,( I only used one to cut up for repairs, not a whole one). Although I am not sure if you can still get the grey ones even? I went into VWHeritage and had both out on their desk for comparison which made the choice easy even though the price difference is huge! :d

Maybe worth contacting Autocraft to find out any news?
