Standard split

I've found another Split for you to check out. This one's in Kent.

Not so sure about the seller's so original description, see what you make of it.

Unusual colour too: www.carandclassic.co.uk/car/C112102/#:o

Well... I don't think the heart tail lights are correct for a Jan '52...

Lots of late 52 bits on that one: 15" wheels, rear lights, W-decklid, bumbers etc.
Also was it originally a standard that's been deluxed? No bonnet badge, one horn grill, brown dash pods?

Looks like it's had a lot of updated over the years!

The numbers listed do all tie up to late January '52 though

Take away all the non-original parts and there's not much left:o

It still looks like a nice beetle though.

It depends if you would be happy with it how it is and how much they want for it.

That's quite a lot if you intended to try to make it 100% correct.
Plenty of stuff to find and more money to spend.

But you could of course just enjoy driving it as it is.

It would be interesting to know if the body was perfect underneath the paint. Is it the original colour?

It's a thing with Splits, that if they are presented in nice condition, they always look very attractive regardless of having slightly later parts – and this car is a nice looking car for sure. If it's a Standard underneath with cable brakes I'd almost be tempted.

Nice colour too, makes for a not overly shiny appearance.

£10k is not a lot for this car. The interior though incorrect looks very presentable.

Sorry - I have to ask - where am I looking on the pictures to see whether it has crotch coolers?

Thanks, everyone!

So... this car appears to have the vents so it is a deluxe "crotchcooler" split with later parts, but also missing some other parts.

Now I'm with you, I think!
