hi enthusiasts,

during my work on my heb while restoreing the aluminium groved moldings and polishing them, i noticed the my one rear original sidepanel molding is different to the split ones i have.

2 things are fact:

it is a bit longer than a split one (about 1-1,5cm)
the end is not rounded , the end follows the fenderline (see picture)

the rounded one on the other side:

so the final qustion i have is now:

what is correct?
in my opinion i think that the not rounded version is a earlyer version and is original hebmüller or am i wrong?

thanks, and yes, same as mine...

the thing is, doing a copy is no problem, but this will work only with a long door trim

That split had them on the front too, although one was missing if I remember.
They´re very cool, but I have no idea if they are correct for your car. If what the old guy told me is true, then maybe not. Not that it matters. Better buy plenty of those door trims!!:d

Yes, those "pointy" ones where around. But I noticed them on very few and early cars.
Maybe an early, short period version of the trim.

I don´t want to show the whole pic yet. But this is an early car.

You didn´t read what was in my other post? The old guy told me they were pre-production deluxe parts from 1947.

Well, I don´t believe in any side trim pre 1948 but I remember a pic from late 1948 with two cars on wich this trim was tested. They had this "pointy" style on. Unfortunately I can not find the pic anymore.
But I took a look and noticed that this style seems to be quite common in 1949 and maybe 1950.

All these ones are Hebs. But we should compare some period pics of 1949 sedans.
Maybe they had them too?
