Is it being held in the same place as last year? In another thread Tim mentioned that it might have to move location due to Government cutbacks.

It's a long way for me, but as it's a public holiday here the next day I might just think about making the long trek to this one. I'm so glad I remembered to send the better half flowers for Valentine's day today, that's sure to get me a load of brownie points which would come in handy for coming this show...

Same place by the looks of it...

On Sunday September 25th 2011 the REME Museum at the Arborfield Garrison Nr Reading, will host the second and possibly final β€˜meet up’ for vintage Volkswagen enthusiasts dedicated to the memory of that officer Major Ivan Hirst REME.

Hello – exciting news – the Second (*possibly last) Ivan Hirst Memorial Volkswagen Beetle Meeting has been confirmed for Sunday September 25th 2011. We’d you attended the first show we would like to invite you to take part in the 2011 show.

As we did last year, we are hosting a stock pre ’67 Volkswagen Beetle show; the turn out from the Vintage VW enthusiast community was extraordinary – and we were really proud to host some of the finest Historic Volkswagens on the road in the UK, including yours! Thank You!

https://ivanhirst.com  it’s a little easier to remember!

Registration for everyone with a stock pre 67 VW will open soon!

Thank you for taking the time to make last years show such a great success and we hope to see you all again in September.

*I say β€˜possibly’ last show as the site of the Corps Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers at the Arborfield Garrison is included in the Governments Defence Spending Review. If the Corps’ moves or changes its role the Museum will be affected, it could be a last chance to see Ivan Hirst’s connection to The REME Corps and the history of Volkswagen in it’s own exhibit.

Theres the tiniest, weeniest chance that my bug may be presentable then. Rather than something I'm embarrassed to have in the car park.

Dont think I'll be signing up any time soon however...

I think you might have taken that the wrong way. I mean my car is currently not presentable enough to have 'in' the show, but it might be in a few months. And that I wont be signing up soon as I doubt I'll have it ready in time.

I loved the last show, cant wait for the next one.

I did think of that, but annoyingly it's not a case of time, it's money. I could just about afford the paint and prep materials, but I will need four new (probably days mouldings ones) wings, correct 'T' decklid etc.

I'm not after perfection, just something shiney that looks good from five feet. πŸ™‚ For perfection it'd need the channels redoing, few front 1/4's etc.

I also still needs to repair the nearside accident damage, still looking for a front 1/4, a pillar and channel cut from a car...

I'd be happy to look at it as it is, so anything you can sort out between now and then would be a bonus. Don't let money be the reason not to take part!
