I recently saw some old black and white photographs that had been colourised in Photoshop, I thought it might be a fun thing to do with some old VW photos...  403136_2953050598715_1634922646_2621314_693331309_n.jpg You have insufficient rights to see the content.  407390_2953054558814_1634922646_2621316_420838132_n.jpg You have insufficient rights to see the content.  425193_2953055678842_1634922646_2621318_465776857_n.jpg You have insufficient rights to see the content.  408873_2959596162350_1634922646_2623432_2116712537_n.jpg You have insufficient rights to see the content.  398432_2959598802416_1634922646_2623433_1197067747_n.jpg You have insufficient rights to see the content.  405947_2959606562610_1634922646_2623435_1495545493_n.jpg You have insufficient rights to see the content.

Nice work Rob.

I actually recognised the spot where the V2 cabrio was shot - it´s the market square in Tubingen - which hasn´t changed much. In fact I googled Tubingen Marktplatz and found the same picture.

Can I just suggest something small - vary the colour slightly on any large areas. If it´s totally monochrome it´s just a tiny giveaway that its colourised. You never get totally flat colour in reality - the dirt on the Hebmßller photo - some would be wet, some dry, some discoloured by leaf mould and so on.

Very good but surprising. How long before the images become "fact" "original" "genuine" etc?

Well, the objects themselves were originally in colour, so I wouldn´t worry too much.:d

A lot of old photos in magazines and books were colourised like this, so it´s nothing new.

I do know what you mean, there are actually some colour variations in the large areas - maybe it's too subtle, but I notice the difference when it's not there, it looks very bland. At the same time, I'm not trying to make it look like it's not colourised - I really like the vintage look of a colourised photo, so thats what I'm trying to achieve.

What's surprising? Colourising b&w photos has been around for over 100 years, I don't see why it's suddenly going to be a problem now.
