Very interesting Julian! From what I can gather, the car must have spent relatively little time in Belgium. The number plate would suggest it was registered in the UK sometime around March-June 1963?

Did the car turn up in north/east Kent somewhere?

Tell us more please and more photos. This is my kind of find!!

The car was in Surrey.

The owner was in the Fulham area when it was registered I believe. The first UK insurance i can find is from July 1963...

Hi,

Just out of interest, what did you use to remove the green paint? I have a similar VW that was repainted. did you use a chemical pant stripper? Was it hard work?

I was using paint thinners on a rag, but I'm now using a DA Sander... its all coming off!

I'm using 80 grit... but that doesnt mean its the right thing to use!
