Hello people. I've been a watcher and a reader for some time but never a contributor. Life started in 1988 with a 64 Beetle, then a 55 oval for 20 years which got swapped for a restoration project 356B. The B is nearly finished and in the meantime we have a lovely original unrestored 72 camper. I've just brought two symptoms of my illness in from the States; a 54 pre A 356 and a 49 Beetle which is part restored. Would love to hear your comments on it and the bits n pieces I have with it - good, bad, correct, incorrect... and so on. I'll try to paste some photos below and a link to a slideshow on photobucket. Actually.. Photos later - my wife is giving me a funny look. Think she wants the iPad!

Car first sold to Sweden in L21 pearl grey in Aug 49. 1 - 0 118 140. Model 11 VW Sedan.

Thanks. And see you all at VW Sweetcorn in August.

Welcome to the forum!

That looks like a great project there with lots of nice parts to complete it. The tail lights are incorrect by the way (they are April 1950 and later). What are your plans for this one?

Also, do you have any pics of the pre-A? We all love a pre-A around here :)

Rich.

Hello Rich,

Thanks for the reply and noted re the lights - one for the list! Not 100% sure of plans yet - I just couldn't resist buying it!

Here, hopefully, after several attempts, are slideshows of the 356 projects.

Cheers
Phil
