Hello Guys,

Hope you can help me, I have a 1962 project Beetle that I an slowly starting a resto on. The pan was toast so I have sourced a rust free example from a 1960 car. Now when I go to register I would like to do this as the correct year '62, now the numbers do not match so how do I stand with the DVLA? Do not want to end up with a Q plate:thumbdn: , anyone had a similar experience?

Regards

Pan is 1960 so car is 1960.

So it needs to be registered on its 1960 number..

Thanks for that. Was just concerned as if the DVLA want to inspect the car the body is clearly a '62.

It makes no odds. It´s the floorpan and other chassis parts that carry the ID.

Alternatively....

The car will be registered as the 60's bug as the dvla go off the chassis number ..so your bug has now become a 1960 bug !
On the bright side no mot lol

No MOT!
It can be a curse getting a ticket, but it is also good to have another pair of eyes looking over it.
Next question then, even though the body is separated from the pan, can I go and register the car now? As long as it has insurance is this enough?
