Does anyone know what ohm speaker I can use on a vintage Becker Monte Carlo M radio? I've heard that speakers are generally 4 or 8 ohms. I have a 4 ohm, will this work?

Thanks

I don't know for sure, but here's a link that says it's 4 ohms:-

https://www.sl113.org/wiki/Electrical/Radio

It's a Mercedes Benz Pagoda SL website but that doesn't matter

Scroll down to near the bottom of the page, to the heading "Speaker removal on 230SL" . The first sub-heading is "Speaker Resistance" and it says "The Becker Installation manual refers to all speakers (Lautsprecher) as being 5 Ohms. Using 4 or 5 Ohms is best but 8 Ohms will work with lower sound volume."

Rich Oakley is the radio guru on this forum- perhaps he can chime in with his knowledge?

Thanks Dave, yes I know of Rich's knowledge on radios, I spoke to him at Camberg RE this radio, which he suspected might not work, anyway he was right. Just got to contact him now.

Thanks. Scott
