Hi there folks,

I'm rebuilding a mid 50's engine and have a question, more on looks rather than anything. I know it wouldn't be technically / age correct, but I really like the way the early flat top distributor caps tidy up the leads in the engine bay esp when combined with the tube that clamps to the manifold.

But without buying a matching earlier distributor (which would be incorrect for the engine anyway) does anyone know though, if they would work on the slightly later model VJU4 BR8?

Are the internal HT contacts in the same positions when the caps are clipped on or is it going to play around with the timing?
will it need a different rotor arm that will fit?
Am i just setting myself up for grief from the timing and the purists  for the sake of "looks"

Thanks
