i have a 1963 1200 bug which i'm currently fixing up. but i have no idea what size the engine is? i dont know if it is an original 1200cc and i was wondering how i can find this out. does the engine number give me any clues? my engine no. is 8705311 if that helps 😃 , thanks

That engine number makes it a June 1964 34bhp 1200 according to the info on the Historic VW club website (Technical section).
