Hi all,

I came across a beetle I am interested in getting and was told it is a 58. It has an oval window which I can see was grafted in by looking at the inside of the car since there is no interior in it right now.

Here is what is throwing me off. Acording to what I have read the US models only had semaphores through 55 but this car has semaphores and they are original. The dash has the spedo in front of the steering wheel and the square fuel gauge just like my 64 vert does. It has a factory rag top that is original and not grafted in.

Since i read that euro models had semaphores until 1960 I think, I am guessing this is a euro bug and not a US bug. I have the vin plate from under the hood and it dosent match anything I have found online for numbers or type numbers. Here is what it says:
First line:
Typ 11 Mr. 5515531
(no I didnt forget a number it just has 11 not 111)

on the second line:
Heizg.Typ 1/255A Prufz...S43

Then it has the 2 weight lines

Anyone have any idea what this is? It is not on the original pan so i cant get the number from the tunnel.
